I started Daffysdream in 2010 exploring the domestic market through Friends, Family, Exhibition, EBay, Facebook and Blog. Although I registered on Etsy in the same year, actually I didn't start selling till Sept 2011. I did a lot of research on the international market and shipping. September 2011 I got the confidence to sell on Etsy, wherein my sale on the domestic market was ample. I was so excited when I made my First sale on Etsy within a few days. The second sale happened after a month(my friend told me selling on Etsy- International market is very difficult). I took it has a challenge, soon I realized listing the new items on Etsy will not help my sale. The competition on Etsy is very aggressive. There are more 500000 search results for the term - "bag and purse". To get noticed among other etsy seller's was very difficult as there is so much of competition. I did some research and read through the entire Seller handbook on Etsy which is very handy. Sell something you love is a great motivation, but I wanted to sell something different which will stand out from the crowd. Along with the introducing new products , I improved my Photograph, SEO, Listing and joined the Etsy team and outside networks. Little hard work and positive attitude did help my sale within a few months.

ReplyDeleteYes, the whole 'SEO' thing is quite challenging. I've been working on mine at least 2 hours a day for the past 2 months and am hoping to see results.
